01Technology for everyone
At Sesalin, we believe digital opportunities should be within everyone’s reach.
We continuously work to make our platform more accessible, inclusive and easy to use for people with different abilities, needs, devices and ways of interacting with technology.
Our goal is to consider accessibility from the design of interfaces and features through to publishing content and evolving our products.
02Our commitment
Sesalin aims to develop digital experiences that are:
Perceivable
Information and interface components should be presented in ways that different users can perceive.
Operable
Key features should be usable through different interaction methods, including keyboard navigation where applicable.
Understandable
Text, forms, messages, instructions and flows should be clear and predictable.
Robust
We aim to develop interfaces compatible with modern technologies, browsers, devices and assistive tools.
03Accessibility features
Sesalin continuously works to improve features such as:
- appropriate semantic page structure;
- keyboard navigation;
- a clear visual indication of the focused element;
- alternative text for meaningful images;
- appropriate contrast between text and background;
- forms with clearly identified fields and instructions;
- understandable error messages;
- support for different screen sizes;
- the ability to enlarge content using the browser;
- an appropriate hierarchy of headings and content;
- identifiable buttons and links;
- less reliance on colour alone to communicate information;
- progressive compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
04Keyboard navigation
We aim to make the main areas and features of Sesalin usable without relying exclusively on a mouse or touchscreen.
Interactive elements should display a visible focus indicator when selected using the keyboard.
05Screen readers and assistive technologies
Sesalin’s page structure aims to use semantic elements and additional accessibility information where needed to help screen readers and other assistive technologies interpret the interfaces.
06Images and visual content
Images that convey meaningful information should, where appropriate, have text alternatives.
Purely decorative elements should not create unnecessary information for users of assistive technologies.
07Contrast and readability
We aim to use colour combinations, text sizes, spacing and visual hierarchies that support comfortable reading.
Important information should not rely on colour alone to be understood.
08Accessible forms
Sesalin’s forms should aim to provide:
- clear identification of fields;
- identification of required fields;
- instructions where needed;
- understandable validation;
- error messages associated with the relevant field;
- the ability to make corrections without unnecessarily losing entered information.
09Third-party content
Sesalin allows businesses, professionals and other users to publish certain content on the platform.
While we aim to provide tools and guidance that support accessible content, some third-party materials may not fully meet the same accessibility standards as Sesalin’s main interface.
10Continuous improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process.
As new products, features and interfaces are developed, we aim to identify and remove barriers that could make the platform harder to use.
11Encountered an accessibility barrier?
If you have had difficulty navigating, understanding information or using a Sesalin feature, we want to know.
When contacting us, please include the following if possible:
- the page or feature where the problem occurred;
- what you were trying to do;
- the device and browser used;
- the assistive technology used, where applicable;
- a brief description of the difficulty.
This information helps us investigate and improve the experience.
12Reference standards
In developing and evolving the platform, we aim to use recognised digital accessibility practices as a reference, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
The application of these practices is reviewed progressively as the platform evolves.
